The H40-S flail mowers are expertly designed for category 1 compact tractors with horsepower ranging from 16 to 40 HP, making them an ideal choice for homeowners, landscapers, school complexes, and orchards. These versatile mowers come in three mowing widths 48″, 60″, and 72″ to accommodate various landscaping needs.
One of the standout features of the H40-S is its ability to offset manually or hydraulically (optional) up to 16″ to the right, providing enhanced coverage over tractor tires and enabling precise mowing around tree trunks. The innovative height adjustment roller is strategically positioned near the cutting chamber, ensuring that the flails maintain a clean rotor free from grass buildup, which is crucial for optimal performance.
Additionally, the H40-S flail mowers offer five distinct blade options, allowing users to customize their mowing experience to suit different terrains and achieve the best cutting results for any application. Reversible three point hitch for front and rear tractor mounting.

• Up to 16″ of side shift

H40-S is equipped standard with a manual or optional hydraulic side-shift that allows mower to be offset up to 16″. With the standard manual offset the operator can choose one of five different pre-set positions, while with the optional hydraulic side shift, the operator has infinite adjustments.

• Roller mounted in standard position

When roller is mounted in the standard position most of the cut grass will be discharged in front of the roller.

• Roller mounted in forward position

If the roller is mounted in the forward position, most of the cut grass will
be discharged behind the roller. Mounting the roller in the forward position allows for the blades to prevent grass build up on the rear roller.
Note: When using rear roller in the forward position, the roller scraper will need to be removed.

• Manually loaded belt tensioners

Our manually loaded belt tensioning system has allowed us to remove idlers which often turn out to be the root cause of most belt failures.

• Heavy duty, pulleys and belts

H40-S mowers are equipped standard with heavy duty individually balanced steel pulleys and SPBX type reinforced notched belts. Pulleys have over 180˚  belt coverage without the use of idlers.

• Sealed rotor bearings and low profile rotor supports

Rotor bearings are self-aligning insuring a longer lifespan (up to 30% longer than traditional roller bearings) and high resistance to heavy workloads. Our sealed rotor bearings also never require maintenance.
The low profile of the rotor supports means the operator can mow closer to obstacles without risking to impact the supports against foreign objects.

• Clockwise rotor rotation

Clockwise rotor rotation allows cut debris to be thrown up and around the rotor and then straight down into the ground, reducing the risk caused by thrown objects.

• Specific blades for any application

Only BEFCO offers you the choice of fine cut blades, dethatching blades, reverse “Y” blades, paddle blades or hammers blades allowing the operators to set up the unit specifically for their application.

• ASAE Cat. 1 quick hitch compatible

Compatible with ASAE Cat. 1 quick hitches.
